Why the Gospel?

Why the Gospel, Why Jesus?

Simply put, the gospel is the good news about the salvation we can have when we repent of our sin and place our faith on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

When man first rebelled against God through disobedience, the relationship between God and man was eternally broken (Genesis 3). Due to man’s inherited sinful nature, passed down through Adam, God as creator, manifested His mercy and goodness by putting into affect His perfect plan of salvation through the promises given of a coming Saviour, His son Jesus Christ (Romans 5).

It is through His fatherly love and compassion that He provided the way by which He redeems man from his sinful condition into a right standing with Him (John 3:16). This is the promised salvation that we received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8).

That’s where Jesus steps in. Jesus Christ, God incarnate, came to earth born of a virgin to take on the form of man (John 1:14). He lived a perfect, sinless life (Hebrews 4:14-16), and He died on the cross for us.  Christ’s atoning death on the cross satisfied the wrath of God toward the sinful and rebellious condition of man (Romans 6:23; 1 John 2:1-2; 2 Corinthians 5:21).

The gospel demands a response. Are you a repentant believer in Jesus? Are you ready for eternity?

Either we reject Him and accept the just penalty of eternal condemnation or, we simply put our faith in Jesus thus having peace with God and eternal life with Him. (Romans 10:9-10, 13).

We plead with you to choose eternity with Jesus Christ by repenting and by asking Him to save you from your sin.
